REIKI

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning ‘Universal Life Energy’ which emerged as a

system of healing in the early 20th century.  It is a non-faith based approach, founded on ancient teachings from the East. As a system of natural healing, it supports all forms of treatment, both orthodox and complementary.

Reiki flows to those areas of the body where it is needed, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Reiki can soothe pain and restore balance in the
mind, spirit and body. The focus of Reiki is on self- healing and spiritual development. The Reiki practitioner uses specific techniques to help the person harmonise their own energy systems in order to promote therapeutic effects on

the body, mind and spirit.

What Happens In Reiki Treatment?

It is a very simple process requiring the person to lie on a couch and relax.
A sitting position is also fine if that is more suitable; clothing remains in place
with comfort being the main factor. No special equipment is needed and the
session can take place anywhere at any time.

The practitioner gently places their hands just above the body, passing over it

in a sequence of positions until the entire area has been covered. Each position

is held for several minutes and the entire session usually lasts an hour but

sometimes a little longer.

Could Reiki Be For You?

Healing is possible at any level, be it emotional, physical or spiritual.
Some acute injuries could be helped to heal more quickly but longer-term

conditions are likely to take a slower course.
